On July 11, 2016, at approximately 1:47 a.m., OPD responded to the Walmart at 3101 W Princeton St. in reference to an armed robbery. An employee observed someone pushing a shopping cart containing a large television toward the grocery exit with a security alarm still attached to TV, meaning it had not been paid for.
The employee grabbed the suspect's cart to try and prevent him from leaving the store with the television. The suspect, described as a black male, approximately 5' 8" tall and 20-24 years old, pushed the employee to the ground. The employee got up and approached the suspect as he was walking out of the store, and the suspect pulled out a black handgun, and left with the television.
The suspect stole a 48 inch Samsung LED television, worth $448. Witnesses observed a black Chrysler 200 with dark tint being driven by a black female leave at the scene and witnesses saw the suspect put the television into a black car at the scene.
