How does property management hold up to a recession?

Quite well…

In fact I would argue that it holds up really well.

One of All County’s biggest periods of growth was during 2007 and 2008 recession when the housing marketing had pretty much collapsed.

Even though other parts of the economy weren’t doing too hot, the property management industry continued to thrive.

What are the people like at All County?

When you think of ‘property management’ or ‘corporate franchise’ the word family probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.

Everyone has heard the horror stories involving a poor experience with a property manager that doesn’t seem to care about anyone but themselves... And don’t get me started on the stuck-up, business-suit, spreadsheets & graphs stereotype that comes to mind when you mention the word “corporate”.

But when I asked CEO Sandy Ferrera what she thought about the All County Franchisees, I was in awe of her response.

As the lead digital strategist for All County, I had the opportunity to sit down with Sandy and ask her some questions about the business and the franchise.

In this case, I specifically asked her “How have you helped and poured into the franchisees to help them reach their goals and level up their life?”

Over the next few minutes, Sandy told me stories of how the All County Franchisees helped support one-another during the aftermath of Hurricane Irma without being compensated for their work…

Without going into too much detail, Sandy got pretty emotional (in a good way) and had to go fix her makeup before we resumed the rest of the interview.

I wasn’t expecting an interview with our Coroporate CEO to end up being so emotional, but after getting to know Sandy I wouldn’t expect anything less from her. The love and compassion she shows when raising her children overflows into her business and her business-relationships.

On January 16, 2016, at approximately 12:05 am, Tactical Unit officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white charger with three occupants on North Lane.

The officers exited their vehicles and the charger began reversing in an attempt to flee from the officers. The TAC officers approached the vehicle and the driver ignored commands to stop the car and advanced forward nearly striking one of the officers. The officer fired his weapon and the driver fled the scene and crashed into a vacant home on Stoney Brook Lane.

The driver, identified as 17-year-old Trevon A. Lamons, was later apprehended and transported to the hospital.

The officer was not injured during the encounter. The white charger had been stolen out of OCSO Jurisdiction

Another great example of "If you see something, say something."

OPD Sex Crimes Detectives have arrested 27-year-old Scott Wesley Irwin on Video Voyeurism charges.

On two separate occasions in February, a customer at the Publix on Meeting Place in Orlando observed Irwin placing his cell phone inside a hand basket, then video recording under the skirt or
shorts of young girls between the ages of 5-13.

The customer reported the incident to management then to OPD. Through video footage and an investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect, who was subsequently positively identified by the customer.

Orlando Police Department is looking for suspect information regarding this armed robbery that occurred at Family Dollar store.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspect is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and receive a cash reward.

OPD has made two arrests in this case.

At about 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2015, a woman was window shopping at the Z-Gallerie store on Eastgate Drive near Mall at Millenia when a black male holding an unknown black handgun in his right hand approached them. The male pointed the gun at one of them and said "Give me your purse now, just give it to me now!" Another male suspect pulled the other woman - who was 82 years old - to the ground and grabbed her purse.

OPD Sex Crimes Detectives have once again arrested Scott Wesley Irwin (12/11/1988) on Video Voyeurism charges.

Both crimes he has been arrested for are felonies: Video Voyeurism upon a child less than 16 years of age.

In the earlier case for which he was arrested, Irwin's victim was 13. In this most recent case, the victim was 10 years old. There is a still unidentified victim who detectives believe is about 7 years old.

An armed robbery occurred at the Circle K store located at 505 S. Conway Rd. on Saturday, 02/06/2016, at approximately 4 .m. The suspect entered the store, pointed a black pistol at the lone female cashier, stole cash from the register and then fled on foot. A similar robbery occurred at the Kangaroo Express located at 12390 E. Colonial Dr. shortly after the Circle K robbery. Once a month through the winter, Orlando Police Officers line up their patrol cars & flash their goodnight lights to children at Arnold Palmer Hospital. The kids respond by flashing their room lights back, and then officers get to go upstairs and meet the kids!

It's one of our favorite traditions at OPD.

At 8:25 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2015, Orlando Police patrol units responded to a Commercial Robbery of the Dunkin Donuts located at 1131 S. Semoran Blvd.

A suspect described as a Hispanic male - approximately 6 feet tall, with blue eyes, wearing a black hoodie with a black mask covering his face - entered the store, brandished a knife, and demanded from the cashier.

He fled on foot in an unknown direction, with an undetermined amount of money. No employees or patrons were injured during the incident.

On July 11, 2016, at approximately 1:47 a.m., OPD responded to the Walmart at 3101 W Princeton St. in reference to an armed robbery. An employee observed someone pushing a shopping cart containing a large television toward the grocery exit with a security alarm still attached to TV, meaning it had not been paid for.

The employee grabbed the suspect's cart to try and prevent him from leaving the store with the television. The suspect, described as a black male, approximately 5' 8" tall and 20-24 years old, pushed the employee to the ground. The employee got up and approached the suspect as he was walking out of the store, and the suspect pulled out a black handgun, and left with the television.

The suspect stole a 48 inch Samsung LED television, worth $448. Witnesses observed a black Chrysler 200 with dark tint being driven by a black female leave at the scene and witnesses saw the suspect put the television into a black car at the scene.
