The Oscar Red Carpet + Oscar Fashion
P’Trique and The Platform, inspired by E Fashion Police (but with a twist), took over the Oscars red carpet. Fashion guru P’Trique had the pleasure of asking the Oscar nominees what designers they were wearing and conducting Snapchat Q&As. All while streaming on Facebook Live. P’Trique kicked off the Oscars red carpet with an IG photo shoot featuring many celebs like Maria Menounos and Brad Goreski. We also managed to run into Oscar winners Whoopi Goldberg, Reese Witherspoon, Matt Damon, Alicia Vikander and Oscar nominee Rooney Mara! The highlight of our red carpet experience had to be the Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet reunion (*cough Titanic reunion) and our Snapchat Q&A with “ Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill. As for Oscar fashion, the nominees came to slay. Our favorites were Alicia Virkander in Louis Vuitton, Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein, Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive, Piyanka Chopra in Zuhair Murad, Charlize Theron & Jennifer Lawrence in Dior, and Kerry Washington in Versace.

The Academy Awards & Oscar Ceremony:
The 88th Academy Awards, aka the Oscars, took place in Hollywood last night. The Oscars is the night the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ voting members gather to celebrate the cinematic achievements of the film industry. This year it was hosted by comedian Chris Rock. Between Chris Rock’s Oscar jokes and the Oscars opening montage this award ceremony was a star studded affair. From the Stacey Dash Black History Month joke, the Minions Oscar presentation, to Jacob Tremblay the youngest Oscar presenter in history; the show was not short of hijinx. Our favorite moments included: finally getting to hear the Leonardo DiCaprio Oscar speech. Leo (The Revenant) beat out Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl) and Matt Damon (The Martian) for Best Actor. Best Actress was awarded to Brie Larson (Room); up against Cate Blanchett (Carol), Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn), and Jennifer Lawrence (Joy). Also Alicia Vikander won Best Supporting actress for The Danish Girl against Rachel McAdams (Spotlight), Rooney Mara (Carol), and Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs). We most enjoyed all the Oscar Best Original Song performances. Sam Smith Writings On The Wall won, The Weeknd performed Earned It from 50 Shades of Grey, and the Lady Gaga Oscar Performance of Until It Happens To You was powerful. She stood united with brave survivors of sexual assault. Then finally Spotlight won Best Picture.
